Meanwhile Oberleutnant Sigmund Storp met Yellow Section of 603 Squadron over the Forth Bridge and he was attacked by Jim Morton . He had emptied his guns when Red Section of 603 arrived and took over the attack. Patsy Gifford continued to fire and the bomber came down just off Port Seaton.
Two of the German bombers had been downed in the first half hour and the force scattered. The attack however was not finished...
